Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for providing 3D spatial data based on spatial random access. The method may include generating multiple groups of frames by grouping 3D spatial data based on an adjacent location in a space, compressing the 3D spatial data for each of the groups of frames, and encapsulating a compressed 3D spatial data bitstream for each of the groups of frames.
