    摘要: Internal olefins are made by displacement from internally-linked hydrocarbon compounds of aluminium with an a olefin, e.g. dodecene and tetradecene, the internal olefin can have 8-18 carbon atoms, e.g. dodecene and tetradecene. The displacement reaction may be at 280-320 DEG C. with a contact time of 0.1-1 second under parallel flow conditions or at 180-220 DEG C. with a contact time of 20-60 seconds under countercurrent flow conditions. The internal olefins can be recycled to produce the initial aluminium compound. Excess a olefin can be used in the displacement reaction, e.g. a 1 to 5:1 excess.ALSO:Hydrocarbon compounds of aluminium in which the aluminium is linked to the terminal carbon atom are prepared by isomerizing at least 50% of an internally linked hydrocarbon compound of aluminium and thereafter displacing any remaining internally linked groups by reaction with an a -olefin. The critical compound may be formed by displacing the organo groups of an organo aluminium with an internal olefin. The internally linked groups may contain 8-18 C atoms each, and may be of equal size. The a olefin may contain the same number of C atoms as the displaced group, e.g. dodecene. The displacement reaction with internal olefin may be at 150-300 DEG C. with a contact time of 0.1-300 seconds. The displacement reaction with the a olefin may be at 280-320 DEG C. with a contact time of 0.1 to 1 second in a parallel flow reactor, or at 180 DEG to 220 DEG C. with a contact time of 20-60 seconds in a counter-current flow reactor. The internal olefins displaced by the a olefin may be recycled. Primary alcohols and acids may be formed from the hydrocarbon compounds of aluminium. The organo aluminium may be triisobutyl aluminium. The internal olefin may be dodec-3-ene. The isomerization may be up to 97% primary alkyl content. Purities of the primary alkyl aluminiums may be up to 99.7%. Any internal olefins remaining after displacement and isomerization are preferably flashed off and recycled before the second displacement. Any unreacted a olefin and internal olefin in the effluent after the second displacement reaction is preferably recycled.

    摘要: Titanium oxide containing concentrates are recovered from sand composed in the particle size range of 100 mesh and smaller of titanium oxides, heavy metal silicates, and silica. A plural stage flotation process is used. In the first stage the sand in the above size range is subjected to flotation using air and an anionic collector to yield a heavy mineral concentrate. The second stage flotation involves treating this heavy mineral concentrate with nitrogen and an anionic collector to float off the heavy metal silicates, the titanium oxide concentrate remaining in the tailings.
