Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the use of at least one cation selected from 1,2,3,5-tetramethylbenzimidazolium cation, 1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylbenzimidazolium cation, and 1,2,3,4,6-pentamethylbenzimidazolium cation as a structure directing agent for the preparation of molecular sieves. This disclosure also relates to a method of making molecular sieves using said structure directing agents, and to molecular sieves comprising said structure directing agents.
