Abstract: A system and method to control the electrical power input to direct electrically heated subsea pipelines. The system comprises a plurality of variable voltage generators and a plurality of step-up transformers. Each step-up transformer is electrically connected to the output of an associated generator. The system further comprises a plurality of variable step-down transformers. Each step-down transformer is electrically connected the output of the step-up transformers and to an associated pipeline segment.
