The first electronic control unit and the second electronic control unit are connected in terms of communications technology.

Abstract: A DC circuit breaker includes: a first current section of a first electrical polarity from a first supply terminal of the DC circuit breaker to a first load terminal of the DC circuit breaker; a second current section of a second electrical polarity from a second supply terminal of the DC circuit breaker to a second load terminal of the DC circuit breaker; a mechanical bypass switch arranged in the first current section or the second current section, the mechanical bypass switch having at least one bypass switch excitation coil; a first semiconductor circuit arrangement connected in parallel with the mechanical bypass switch; an electronic control unit of the DC circuit breaker for actuating the first semiconductor circuit arrangement; a second semiconductor circuit arrangement to be actuated by the electronic control unit, which second semiconductor circuit arrangement is connected to the bypass switch excitation coil by circuitry.

Abstract: A low-voltage circuit breaker includes: at least one external conductor section from an external conductor power terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker to an external conductor load terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker; a neutral conductor section from a neutral conductor terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker to a neutral conductor load terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker; a mechanical bypass switch arranged in the external conductor section; a semiconductor circuit arrangement switched in parallel to the bypass switch; an electronic control unit; and a first current measuring arrangement arranged in the external conductor section, the first current measuring arrangement including a first shunt, which is connected to the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit actuates the mechanical bypass switch and the semiconductor circuit arrangement upon detecting a prespecifiable overcurrent that includes a short circuit current, by the current measuring arrangement.

Abstract: A method for distinguishing an arc from a luminous gas at least containing metal vapor includes sensing light in a monitoring region and determining a first intensity Iλ1 of the sensed light at a first wavelength λ1 and a second intensity Iλ2 of the sensed light at a second, greater wavelength λ2. The ratio Iλ1/Iλ2 between the first intensity Iλ1 and the second intensity Iλ2 is determined. The sensed light is associated with an arc if said ratio Iλ1/Iλ2 is greater than a specifiable first threshold value and/or with a luminous gas at least containing metal vapor if said ratio Iλ1/Iλ2 is less than a specifiable second threshold value.
