Abstract:
A diffraction grating and a prism with the appropriate characteristics are employed to provide a combined dispersive characteristic that is substantially linear over the visible spectrum. Radiation from the grating and prism is collimated by a lens towards a detector array. The grating or a telecentric stop between the grating and prism is placed at a focal point of the lens in a telecentric arrangement so that equal magnification is achieved at the detector array. If the detector array is replaced by a plurality of optical channels, a multiplexer/demultiplexer is obtained.
Abstract:
A method and system for driving an LED based projector in which each of the LED banks is excited during a single duty cycle of a frame time rather than sequentially. This method powers multiple LED banks at least partially simultaneously producing an equivalent HDTV Primary color and thereby a brighter optimized display. The method of driving a projector using red, green, and blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) includes determining an equivalent primary display (EPD) chromaticity for each primary color in a frame time; and timing excitation of each of the red, green, and blue LEDs in a same duty cycle of a frame time in accordance with the equivalent primary display chromaticity determined.
Abstract:
A routing conduit assembly for routing fiber optic jumpers from a raceway includes interconnected hood, curved neck, and vertical body conduits. The conduits have slits which are aligned with one another when the conduits form the assembly. A connector connects the vertical body conduit to a horizontally oriented raceway to mount the assembly to the raceway with the hood conduit positioned above the raceway. The connector includes a fulcrum component which enables the assembly to tilt relative to the raceway. A support stabilizer connects to the vertical body conduit for receiving tubular containers such that the tubular containers are aligned and secured with respect to the assembly. The conduit slits receive jumpers from the raceway for the assembly to enclose and route between the raceway and fiber optic equipment located below the raceway such that the jumpers transition between horizontal and vertical orientations while maintaining a minimum bend radius.
Abstract:
Two or more triangular apertures are employed to pass radiation from a source to a detector to reduce the amount of stray radiation received by the detector. Preferably, the two apertures are equilateral triangles oriented at 60 rotated relative to each other and have dimensions proportional to their distances from the detector. A Bessel filter is employed to reduce the effect of flicker and other rapid changes in intensity in the radiance from the source. The output of the sensor is integrated and sampled at sampling time intervals that are powers of two of time, and a reading is provided when the output of the integrator exceeds the same threshold under all radiation source intensity conditions so that the meter has a substantially constant resolution at different signal levels. Where the radiation from the source is transmitted or reflected by the sample before such radiation is detected by the detector, the instrument becomes a transmissometer or reflectometer.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a color and neutral tone management system, method, apparatus and software for reproduction of an image on an output medium, with a black colorant applied to the output medium having a maximum black colorant darkness. In an exemplary method, a black colorant is provided in substantially linear increments to the maximum black colorant darkness to provide a plurality of black increments; a first plurality of primary colorants are provided at about a first colorant level, such as from 5-8% saturation; and the first plurality of primary colorants are combined with each black increment of the plurality of black increments to form a first plurality of neutral increment values. At higher input darkness levels, a second plurality of neutral increment values are formed from increments of the black colorants (beginning at about 80% darkness) combined with a second plurality of primary colorants provided in substantially quadratic increments beginning at about 40% saturation.

A one or two dimensional detector array may be used for detecting the characteristics of a radiation beam. Alternatively, a one or two dimensional array of optical channels may be employed in a multiplexer or demultiplex arrangement with a single output/input optical channel.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a color and darkness management system, method, apparatus and software for determining colorant values for reproduction of an image on an output medium having a minimum darkness, and with the reproduction having a maximum black colorant darkness on the output medium. An exemplary apparatus embodiment comprises a memory and a processor. The processor is adapted, when an input darkness level of a selected pixel is greater than a first predetermined darkness level, to nonlinearly constrain an output black darkness of the selected pixel to a value less than or equal to the lesser of the input darkness level and the maximum darkness; when the input darkness level of the selected pixel is less than a second predetermined level, to nonlinearly constrain the output black darkness of the selected pixel to a value greater than or equal to the greater of the input darkness level and the minimum darkness; and otherwise to determine the output black darkness of the selected pixel as a substantially linear mapping from the input darkness level.

A device includes a conduit which is connectable to a jumper raceway. The conduit includes a hollow body having two opened ends. A permanently formed opening runs along the conduit body between the conduit body ends for the conduit body to receive a jumper from the raceway.
