A method for generating and processing extended instructions and an apparatus using the method are provided. The method includes: transmitting, by a first device, a request packet according to an extended instruction that is generated based on a Gen-Z interface standard to a second device; and receiving, by the first device, a response packet including a result of performing the request packet from the second device. The extended instruction is generated based on a vendor-defined instruction set of the Gen-Z interface.

Disclosed herein are a system for sharing power of rack mount server and an operating method thereof. The system for sharing power of a rack mount server according to the present invention comprises: a plurality of servers installed inside a rack main frame and mounted with a power sharing backplane; a rack connected to the power sharing backplane of the plurality of servers in which a power bus bar, receiving power outputted from the connected power supply units, which are mounted in a part of or all of the plurality of servers, is mounted; and a rack power controller collecting power information of the power supply units through the power bus bar mounted inside the rack and controlling operation status of the power supply units based on the collected power information.

A power redundancy apparatus for a rack-mounted server may include a first server that includes first and second connectors connected in parallel to the output side of a first PSU, a second server that includes third and fourth connectors connected in parallel to the output side of a second PSU, and a power connection cable for coupling any one of the first and the third connectors, the second and the fourth connectors, the first and the fourth connectors, and the second and the third connectors.
