Abstract: An example method includes generating a graphical representation of a point cloud of an environment overlaid on a video stream of the environment. The method further includes receiving a first selection of a first point pair, the first point pair including a first virtual point of the point cloud and a first real point of the environment, the first real point corresponding to the first virtual point. The method further includes receiving a second selection of a second point pair, the second point pair including a second virtual point of the point cloud and a second real point of the environment, the second real point corresponding to the second virtual point. The method further includes aligning the point cloud to the environment based at least in part on the first point pair and the second point pair and updating the graphical representation based at least in part on the aligning.

Abstract: Examples described herein provide a method for point cloud alignment. The method includes receiving a first set of three-dimensional (3D) points of an environment. The method further includes capturing a second set of 3D points of the environment using a sensor of a processing system. The method further includes aligning the first set of 3D points of the environment with the second set of 3D points of the environment to create a point cloud of the environment. The method further includes generating, on a display of the processing system, a graphical representation of the point cloud of the environment. The graphical representation displays at least a portion of the first set of 3D points of the environment as an augmented reality element.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for point cloud alignment with a floor plan or a video stream of an environment. The systems and method comprise overlaying a graphical representation of a point cloud onto an image of the floor plan and the video stream. The systems and methods further comprise aligning the graphical representation of the point cloud and the image of the floor plan with the video stream using a point alignment. The systems and methods further comprise displaying an update of the graphical representation based at least in part on a further point alignment or a movement alignment.
