Abstract: A vehicle air register includes an airflow damper disposed within a register housing. A rotationally-operable control is coupled to the airflow damper and the register housing. A ride plate is disposed within the register housing and that slidably receives the control to define open and closed positions of the airflow damper. The control includes a biased pin that engages the ride plate. The ride plate is made of a different material than the housing. A method for forming a vehicle register includes forming a ride plate that is made of a first material, forming a register housing made of a second material, and having a plate receptacle defined therein, disposing the ride plate within the plate receptacle, and disposing a damper and damper control within the housing.

Abstract: An assembly for mounting a door with a vehicle compartment includes an arm coupled with the compartment and with the door, a track fixed with the compartment, and a carrier pivotably coupled with the door and slidable along the track. The assembly further includes a spring coupled between the door and the compartment such that a contraction of the spring alone causes the door to move with rotation of the arm and movement of the carrier along the track. A track cover engages the carrier to prevent disengagement of the carrier from the track.

Abstract: A clip for a vehicle door assembly includes a base, a plurality of fingers forming an expandable opening, and an arm extending from the base for locating the clip within the door assembly. Each of the fingers includes an inward projecting tab at least partially defining the expandable opening such that a tip of a pin contacts the inward projecting tabs during insertion of the pin causing the plurality of fingers to expand outward to an expanded position allowing the pin to enter the expandable opening until the inward projecting tabs align with a groove formed in the pin adjacent the tip wherein the inward projecting tabs enter the groove allowing the plurality of fingers to return to a natural position and secure the pin in position. Inner and outer members of the door assembly secure the clip therebetween for receiving pins associated with movement of the door.
