Abstract: A driveshaft for a reusable paper core includes a shaft body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a medial portion extending between the proximal end and the distal end. An outer periphery of the medial portion has a non-circular cross-sectional shape. The driveshaft includes one or more receptacles provided in an outer surface of the medial portion of the shaft body, a first bearing coupled with the distal end, a second bearing coupled with the proximal end, and one or more gear keys coupled with the proximal end. The one or more gear keys may be configured to transfer force from a rotating machine element to the driveshaft.
