摘要： A disposable absorbent article, e.g., a protective undergarment, and methods of manufacturing such articles. The undergarment is in the form of a chassis having front waist portion, a belly portion, a rear waist portion, a rear back portion, a crotch portion, and a pair of leg openings disposed on opposite sides of the crotch portion. Each of the leg openings has a high-cut concave edge portion at the front section, and a convex edge portion at the rear section. The concave edge portion of each leg opening is of complementary shape to the convex edge portion of that leg opening, so that the undergarment covers a substantial portion of the wearer's leg beneath the buttocks, while a substantial portion of the wearer's leg where the leg meets the torso is exposed.

摘要： This invention provides an absorbent article configured for controlled deformation when worn by a user. The absorbent article includes a cover positionable adjacent the user, a barrier layer coupled to the cover and an absorbent layer interposed between the cover and the barrier layer. The absorbent layer of the present invention further defines at least two elongated gaps extending in a longitudinal direction, the gaps being laterally spaced on opposed sides of a centerline of the absorbent article, where each of the gaps defines a deformation zone to facilitate controlled deformation.

摘要： The invention provides a disposable protective undergarment including front and back panels, each panel having a waist end, and a crotch end longitudinally spaced from the waist end, and two sides, the crotch ends of the front panel and back panel having a substantially straight edge and a substantially convex curved edge, respectively, with a crotch insert bridging the gap therebetween. The invention further provides a method of manufacturing disposable protective undergarments, including forming front and back panel portions of the undergarment from a continuous web, each front and back panel portion having a waist end and a crotch end longitudinally spaced from the waist end and having a substantially straight edge, removing a portion of the crotch end of the back panel to form a substantially convex curved edge, and fixing a crotch insert to crotch ends of the front and back panel portions to bridge a gap therebetween.
