摘要： A feedstuff component for pigs contains one or more polyhydric alcohols in an amount to provide from 0.01 to 5% wt of polyhydric alcohol by weight of total feed. Preferred polyhydric alcohols are sugar alcohols, particuarly sorbital.The invention includes a method of feeding pigs by including 0.01 to 5% wt of one or more polydrdric alcohols in their diet. The polyhydric alcohol improves the pig's growth rate, particuarly with high lipid diets, and acts primarily of male pigs.

摘要： A thermostatic switch of low profile comprises a can with a stationary contact attached to the bottom of the can. A movable contact affixed to the end of a snap-acting bimetal member is positioned to make or break contact with the stationary contact. A flat heater has one end secured to a dimpled portion of a can lid and has its other end resting against the lid in insulated relation to the lid to extend generally parallel to the lid. This other end of the heater is also welded to the bimetallic member. The can and lids incorporate terminals. A gasket insulates the lid from the can and is positioned to a positive stop to a lead when inserting the lead into the lid terminal.

摘要： A nonresettable thermally actuated switch comprising a case of electrically conductive material, a first power lead connected to the case, a second power lead electrically insulated from the case, a deformable connector of conductive material in electrical contact with an inside surface of the case and with the second lead thereby to complete a circuit. The switch further includes an insulator biased toward the connector by a spring but separated therefrom by a body of fusible material. When heated above a predetermined temperature the fusible material melts and the insulating member moves against the connector mechanically deforming the connector away from the inside surface of the case and electrically insulating the connector from the case thereby to break the circuit.
