Abstract:
An ultra wide band (UWB) device includes a first control unit for controlling a UWB data stream according to a first operation mode, and a second control unit for controlling the UWB data stream according to a low duty cycle operation mode. An activation unit selectively activates the first and second control units.
Abstract:
A wireless apparatus includes a millimeter-wave communication interface configured to exchange information within a millimeter-wave communication network, an UWB communication interface and control means or circuitry configured to activate the UWB interface for communicating location indication to the communication network according to an UWB communication standard. The location indication is intended for locating the wireless apparatus within the network.
Abstract:
The method is for managing the operation of a wireless communication device including several different communication modules respectively adapted to operate according to several given communication protocols including a UWB module operating according to a UWB protocol based on an OFDM modulation scheme. The method includes controlling the UWB module for scanning a chosen frequency band, and managing a communication to be performed by the device on the basis of the scanning result.
Abstract:
The method is for detecting the eventual presence of an interferer that is adapted to interfere with a wireless device. The wireless device is provided with at least one receiving chain including an analog to digital conversion stage. The method includes receiving on the receiving chain an incident signal, and delivering to the ADC stage an analog signal from the incident signal. The method further includes elaborating or determining a binary information from a binary signal delivered by the ADC stage and representative of the level of the analog signal, analyzing a temporal evolution of the binary information and detecting the presence of the interferer from the analysis.
