Abstract: A packing method and unit to pack articles, includes: moving first seats by a first conveyor and second seats by a second conveyor along first and second paths at first and second moving speeds, respectively; and cyclically transferring an article from a first seat to a second seat in a transfer station. The first seats and second seats each designed to house an article. During normal operation with no rejected articles, the first moving speed is functionally equal to the second moving speed, and the same number of first and second seats pass through the transfer station in a given time interval. Where at least one article is rejected in a first seat, the second moving speed is functionally decreased relative to the first moving speed so that two first seats (one containing the rejected article) passes through the transfer station in the time interval as one second seat.

Abstract: Packer machine and wrapping method to manufacture a packet of tobacco articles containing two distinct groups of tobacco articles; the following are provided: a coupling wheel which rotates with continuous motion around a rotation axis and supports a pair of coupling pockets; a feeding station in which a first group of tobacco articles is fed to a first coupling pocket and, subsequently, a second group of tobacco articles is fed to a second coupling pocket; an actuating device which brings, downstream of the feeding station, the two coupling pockets closer to each other, until the two coupling pockets are side by side; and a releasing station, in which the two groups of tobacco articles are extracted together from both the coupling pockets arranged side by side, so that the two groups of tobacco articles are side by side when they come out of the coupling pockets.

Abstract: A rigid packet of smoking articles and method for manufacturing the same, wherein the packet comprises: a group of articles; a first rigid container containing the group of articles and comprising an extraction opening for extracting the articles; a resealable label which is fixed to the first container and movable between an open position, in which access to the articles is allowed, and a closed position, in which it closes the extraction opening preventing the access to the articles; a second rigid container which comprises a containing portion, containing the first container and comprising an opening from which the first container protrudes, and a lid which is hinged to the containing portion and is movable to open and close the opening. The first container is made of a multilayer material comprising a first layer which is internal and which is made of a paper material and a second layer which is made of aluminium and the packet comprises a flavoured wrap, which is arranged in the first container and which partially wraps the group of smoking articles so as not to be visible from the extraction opening of the first container, when the label is in the open position.
