Abstract: An oven appliance and a method for preheating the same are provided. The oven appliance includes a broil heating element, a bake heating element, and a convection heating assembly with a convection heating element or a fan or both. The method includes initiating a preheat cycle having a first phase and a second phase. During the second phase of the preheat cycle, a power output of the convection heating element is reduced or an angular velocity of the fan is decreased or both.
