Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided that includes obtaining sensor data via one or more sensors of a vehicle; and adjusting a speed of the vehicle during cruise control, via instructions provided by a processor of the vehicle, as the vehicle performs a cornering maneuver, the adjusting including decreasing the speed of the vehicle so as to be less than a manually inputted speed for the cruise control, during one or more first intervals of the cornering maneuver, based on the sensor data and in accordance with the instructions provided by the processor; and increasing the speed of the vehicle so as to return to the manually inputted speed for the cruise control, during one or more second intervals of the cornering maneuver that are subsequent to the one or more first intervals, based on the sensor data and in accordance with the instructions provided by the processor.

Abstract: A seat includes a seat base including a first side and a second side, and a seat back including a first side portion and a second side portion. The seat back is pivotable between an upright configuration and a highly reclined configuration. A torso belt system is arranged at the seat system. The torso belt system includes a retractor mechanism positioned adjacent to one of the seat base and the seat back. An amount of flexible webbing includes a first end anchored at the retractor mechanism and a second end. A selectable anchor is connectable to the second end of the amount of flexible webbing. The selectable anchor is selectively arranged in a first position at the seat base when the seat back is in the upright seating configuration and in a second position at the seat back when the seat back is in the highly reclined seating configuration.

Abstract: A seatbelt assembly for a vehicle includes a seatbelt and a base retractor coupled to the seatbelt and configured to allow the seatbelt to extend to a desired length. The base retractor includes a first end portion including a biasing device, a second end portion disposed opposite the first end portion and including a speed-based locking mechanism, and a third portion disposed between the first end portion and the second end portion and including a spindle coupled to the seatbelt. The seatbelt assembly also includes a pretensioner coupled to the base retractor and configured to tighten slack of the seatbelt to ensure proper position of the vehicle passenger. Additionally, the seatbelt assembly includes an electromagnet disposed within or adjacent to the base retractor and configured to enable adjustment of rotational resistance applied to the spindle based on vehicle passenger size.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a restraint system that operates a method of mitigating an effect of an impulse at the vehicle on a passenger of the vehicle. The restrain system includes an inner shell, an outer shell and a slip device between the inner shell and the outer shell. The outer shell is mounted to the vehicle and supports the inner shell. The inner shell supports the passenger. The slip device is configured to allow a relative movement between the inner shell and the outer shell to thereby reduce a transfer of the impulse received at the outer shell to the inner shell.

In one embodiment, a method includes: determining, by a processor, curvature data associated with a roadway ahead of the vehicle; determining, by the processor, velocity data based on the curvature data, steering data of the vehicle, and set speed data associated with a semi-autonomous control system of the vehicle; and generating, by the processor, control commands to the semi-autonomous control system to control the vehicle to a speed other than a set speed of the set speed data based on the velocity data.
