Abstract: A portable computer includes a base, at least one bracket anchored to the base, a display assembly, and a display bracket anchored to the display assembly. The portable computer also includes a hinge including a set of hinge components, a cam, and a shaft, the cam being connected to the at least one bracket, the shaft being connected to the display bracket, and the cam and the hinge components being connected to the shaft. A cable passes around the shaft. The cable is coupled to a point in the display assembly and to an area of the base.

Abstract: A computing device is described that receives fingerprint data that is generated by at least one sensor of the computing device and determines, based on a comparison of the fingerprint data with data associated with a fingerprint of an authorized user of the computing device, whether to authorize access to one or more applications that are executable by the computing device. Responsive to determining that access to the one or more applications is authorized, the computing device determines a gesture indicated by the fingerprint data, selects, based on the gesture, an application of the one or more applications as a selected application, and outputs, for display, a graphical user interface of the selected application.
