Abstract: A method and enabling means is provided for controlling to substantially improved advantage the troublesome air currents generated in carding machines at the surface of the lickerin roll beyond its tangency with the carding cylinder, and for additionally and comparably controlling the character of fiber going forward on any carding machine roll surface at which appreciable air currents are generated.
