摘要: The combination of the cement contamination laboratory measurements and the field log measurement allows to perform the evaluation of cement placement and quality related to the designed percentage cement displacement coverage and set-up times in the casing annulus. Since the logging time after the cement job is completed is known, a comparison between the acoustic impedance or compressive strength measured using the USI log and the acoustic impedance or the compressive strength measured in the laboratory, a level of mud contamination can be derived at every point across the wellbore. From the laboratory correlations, cement strength prediction with time can be established. This new product will give the operator an accurate tool to recommend performing remedial cementing with a higher success rate.

摘要: An apparatus for generating a seismic signal in a wellbore includes an elongated housing configured to be disposed in the wellbore; a piston slidably disposed in an internal bore in the elongated housing; a strike plate fixed on the elongated housing proximate one end of the internal bore; and an energizing mechanism configured to move the piston to hit the strike plate. A downhole system for seismic survey of a formation penetrated by a wellbore includes at least one seismic receiver; a seismic source; and at least one inflatable packer configured to separate the seismic source and the at least one seismic receiver in different compartments in the wellbore when inflated.

摘要: A rock classification system involves the use of a Ternary Diagram (TD) Model and a set of rules in a rule base. A computer, which stores a rock classification software which includes the rule base, will be responsive to certain data points from a Spectroscopy Sonde, will compare each data point with each of the rules in the rule base, and, when a match is found, will generate a specific rock classification for that data point. When a plurality of data points are input to the computer, a corresponding plurality of rock classifications are generated.
