摘要： An identification card printer for printing an image on an identification card, is provided which includes a print mechanism adapted to deposit material on to the card. A network adapter is configured to couple to a network. A print drive module controls the print mechanism in response to a drive module input. A client/server module is coupled to the network adapter and functions as a client on the network to responsively provide data to the drive module input. The client/server module can further function as a server on the network to serve data to the network.

摘要： A printer for printing on a substrate includes an input configured to receive data, a print mechanism configured to print an image on the substrate, and a controller coupled to the input and the print mechanism configured to actuate the print mechanism in response to the input. The controller includes a microprocessor and memory containing a multi-threaded operating system and programming instructions for the microprocessor. The memory implements a plurality of stacks, each stack related to a thread. The programming instructions include a plurality of separate programs and the operating system executes each program as a separate thread and stores information related to each thread on a respective stack in the memory.

摘要： A two-wire field-mounted process device with multiple isolated channels includes a channel that can be an input channel or an output channel. The given input or output channel can couple to multiple sensors or actuators, respectively. The process device is wholly powered by the two-wire process control loop. The process device includes a controller adapted to measure one or more characteristics of sensors coupled to an input channel and to control actuators coupled to an output channel. The controller can be further adapted to execute a user generated control algorithm relating process input information with process output commands. The process device also includes a loop communicator that is adapted to communicate over the two-wire loop.

摘要： A ribbon for a thermal printer has a series of frames of different colors in a sequence that are correlated to the position of cards to be printed. The ribbon has indexing marks for each frame and also indicators for each repeating sequence of frames. The index marks are arranged in a line across the ribbon and the marks can be coded to individually indicate the color or other characteristic of the frame associated with the line of index mark. This information is received by a controller to control various printer functions.

摘要： A transmitter in a process control loop includes a sensor for sensing a process variable. An analog-to-digital converter coupled to the sensor provides a digitized process variable at various sample times. An interface couples the transmitter to the control loop and is used for communicating information and receiving power over the control loop. The transmitter includes a clock and a memory. A microprocessor coupled to the clock and the memory stores digitized process variables and clock information in the memory. The storage is such that the sample time of a stored digitized process variable can be determined.

A piezoelectric transducer is located in a sensor chamber between and in physical contact with a diaphragm and a chamber surface. Pressure fluctuations in a von Karman vortex street outside the diaphragm compress the transducer, between the diaphragm and the chamber surface. The transducer generates a responsive electrical signal which is representative of the pressure fluctuations.

The method includes generating a field operating characteristic at the field device, processing the field operating characteristic at the field processing module, and generating field operating data including a field diagnostic parameter as a function of the field operating characteristic. The method also includes communicating the field operating data including the field diagnostic parameter over the bitbus from the field processing module to the auxiliary processing module. The method further includes generating at the auxiliary processing module auxiliary field data as a function of the received field operating data and communicating the auxiliary field data over the fieldbus.
