摘要: A vane assembly for a gas turbine is described wherein the vane assembly comprises a first vane and a second vane connected together by a plurality of flanges, at least one fastener, and at least one spring plate. The fastener and hole diameters in the respective flanges are sized such that the first vane and second vane are essentially pinned together along their inner flanges and allowed to adjust due to thermal growth along their outer flanges, while maintaining a constant seal along both inner and outer platform edges. The thermal growth along the outer flanges is made possible by oversized flange holes relative to the diameter of the fastener.

摘要: A gas turbine blade having an airfoil to platform interface configured to minimize thermal and vibratory stresses is disclosed. This configuration minimizes exposure to the conditions that are known to cause high cycle fatigue and low cycle fatigue cracks. The turbine blade incorporates a channel in the platform trailing edge that extends from the platform concave face to the platform convex face and has a portion having a constant radius. The channel extends a sufficient distance into a stress field created by the aerodynamic loading of the turbine blade airfoil in order to redirect the mechanical stresses away from the blade trailing edge while allowing the platform trailing edge region to be more responsive to thermal fluctuations.

In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, the vane support defines a circumferential channel, and a interrupted rim region of the bladed rotor assembly defines a segmented ring. The segmented ring protrudes outward from the bladed rotor assembly, spans across the cavity and into the channel to define a seal.

摘要: A gas turbine vane to improve vane performance by addressing known failure mechanisms. A cooling circuit to the trailing edge of a vane airfoil is fed from the outer diameter platform, which prevents failure due to an oxidized and eroded airfoil trailing edge. The gas turbine includes an outer diameter platform, a hollow airfoil and an inner diameter platform with a plurality of cooling tubes extending radially through the airfoil. The cooling tubes are open at the outer diameter end and closed with covers at the inner diameter end. The inner diameter platform is also cooled and includes a meterplate for a portion of the cooling passageway and includes an undercut to improve thermal deflections of the inner diameter platform.
