Abstract: A system and method for managing shadow flicker at a wind turbine site having at least one wind turbine includes determining, via a processor, a sun position of the wind turbine site. The method also includes receiving, via the processor, a spatial location of the at least one wind turbine with respect to at least one receptor. Further, the method includes determining, via the processor, whether shadow flicker is occurring at the at least one receptor based, at least in part, on the sun position and the spatial location of the at least one wind turbine. Moreover, the method includes implementing, via the processor, a corrective action for the at least one wind turbine when shadow flicker occurs at the at least one receptor to reduce the shadow flicker.

Abstract: A method for automatically updating data associated with a wind turbine based on component self-identification may generally include providing instructions for transmitting a polling signal to an identification sensor associated with a wind turbine component and, in response to the transmission of the polling signal, receiving current configuration data for the wind turbine component from the identification sensor. The method may also include comparing the current configuration data received from the identification sensor to last-known configuration data for the wind turbine component and automatically updating one or more parameter settings associated with operating the wind turbine based on any differences identified between the current configuration data and the last-known configuration data.

Abstract: A method for improving power production of a wind turbine includes obtaining, by a controller having one or more processors, wind forecast data of the wind turbine. The method also includes scheduling, by the controller, one or more health checks for one or more components of the wind turbine based, at least in part, on the wind forecast data. Moreover, the method includes implementing, via the controller, the one or more health checks based on the scheduling such that the one or more health checks are implemented during time periods having wind speeds below a predetermined threshold.
