摘要: A seal for a cable connector is provided. The seal is made between a cable extending into an oversize cable clamp housing and the housing itself. The sealing element itself is a generally annular ring of yieldable material such as polymer foam. The sealing element preferably includes three generally triangular sectors some surfaces of which are preferably curved and the sectors are interconnected by webs formed integrally with the sectors. The annular sealing element extends generally about a cable extending into the housing.

摘要: A coaxial cable/fiber optic bus network utilizes a coaxial cable for the main signal bus in a distribution system. The tap samples the electrical signal, and transforms the signal into a light pulse output. An optical splitter changes the single light output into a multiple output for serving a maximum number of peripheral units. Similarly, the input port on the tap uses a like optical splitter to recombine signal paths from the peripherals, in driving the coaxial line. Circuitry for incorporation in the tap provides a matching impedance when driving the coaxial line, and a high impedance on the line during the off-time in order to reduce line loading.

摘要: An insulated cord clamp is provided for an electrical cap and for a connector. The cord clamp includes an inner collar and an outer collar which are mechanically linked to be moved axially relative to one another. The clamped cable or cord passes through the collars. A set of cleats or double wedges is joined by a flexible web and arranged in annular configuration within the collars to grip the cable. A set of ramps conforms to the set of double wedges with a first wedge of each double wedge disposed in each ramp. The outer collar has a beveled annular surface which operates as a continuous ramp on the second wedge of each double wedge of the set. The element constituting the set of double wedges and flexible web is formed flat. A double wedge is at one end of the element and has latching means for joining the other end thereto to give the element the annular form in which it is used.

摘要: An electrical receptacle assembly affording ground fault protection includes a housing containing fixed contacts supported by socket connector sub-assemblies. A support plate mounts an electronics/magnetics module and operating mechanism sub-assembly including a pivotal, movable contact carrying arm, a latch, a reset button and a trip solenoid. The reset button positions the latch to detain the arm with the contacts in circuit completing relation. On a ground fault, the module effectuates energization of the solenoid to unlatch the arm which moves to separate the contacts.
