Abstract: 1. A multi-layer web of packaging material for forming the walls of a packaging container, comprising: a substrate layer; a covering layer of thermoplastic material place on and in juxtaposition with said substrate layer; the covering layer having at least two zones extending substantially parallel to each other and substantially continuous in the direction of the length of the web; one of said zones being permanently secured to said substrate; the other of said two zones constituting a heat seal responsive seam zone releasable secured to said substrate; and a separating agent between said seam zone and said substrate.
