Abstract: In one example, at least one storage usage category for a storage volume identified for metering is determined. The at least one storage usage category may indicate how the storage volume operates to store data over a networked computing environment. Once the at least one storage usage category is determined, a usage value for the storage volume of the at least one storage usage category is obtained, wherein the usage value provides a measure of usage of the storage volume.
