Abstract: A camera is provided for taking a combined picture by combining an optically-input image with an electronically-downloaded image. The composition of the combined picture is controlled both by adjusting the direction of pointing of the camera to control the content of the optically-input image and by electronically controlling the positioning and/or size of the downloaded image.

Abstract: A camera is provided for taking a combined picture by combining an optically-input image with an electronically-downloaded image. Such a camera permits a combined picture to be taken by a method in which at a site of interest an historical image, or a reference to it, is stored, and subsequently the camera is used both to optically capture a current image at the site, and to read the stored data whereby to directly, or by following a said reference, to download said historical image. The current and historical images are then combined in the camera, preferably under user control.

Abstract: A user visiting a space is equipped with a mobile device in communication with a service system. Media items held by the service system are associated with various locations around the space and a user arriving at such a location is presented with the corresponding item or items. Preferably, these media items are pre-emptively loaded into a cache of the user's mobile device in dependence on the user's progress around the space. Items can also be flushed from cache on this basis. Instead of, or as a precursor to, flushing an item from cache to free up space, the cache space occupied by an item is reduced by degrading it.
