Abstract:
Easily dyeable shaped structures (e.g. filaments or fibres) are manufactured by incorporating from 0.1 to 30% of a polyvinyl ester and/or a copolymer of a vinyl ester with a copolymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. crotonic acid) into a polyolefin and then working the mixture into a shaped structure. The polyolefin may be polyethylene or polypropylene and the vinyl ester may be vinyl-acetate, -propionate, -butyrate or -stearate. Spun filaments may be dyed with dispersion dyestuffs.
