Abstract: A data processing apparatus and a data processing method are provided. The data processing apparatus includes a data processing module, a switching module, and a scheduling module. The scheduling module coordinates a quantity of tasks corresponding to each data processing module. When a quantity of to-be-processed tasks corresponding to any data processing module reaches a preset threshold, the scheduling module instructs the switching module to send task data received by the foregoing any data processing module to a data processing module whose quantity of to-be-processed tasks does not reach the preset threshold for processing. In the foregoing technical solution, each general-purpose server corresponds to one data processing module. When a quantity of tasks corresponding to a data processing module is relatively large, the scheduling module controls the switching module to dispatch task data to a relatively idle data processing module, thereby avoiding a problem of system resource waste.
