Abstract: A transmission timing adjustment method and device are provided. The method includes: determining, by a base station, a transmission delay between user equipment (UE) and the base station; generating, a timing advance (TA) quantized value according to the transmission delay, where the TA quantized value includes a base value and an offset value, quantization precision of the base value is first quantization precision MTs, quantization precision of the offset value is second quantization precision NTs, M is a positive integer less than or equal to 16, N is a nonnegative integer less than M, and Ts is a minimum time unit in a LTE system and has a value of 1/30.72 μs; and sending, by the base station, the TA quantized value to the UE, where the TA quantized value is used for uplink transmission timing adjustment of the UE. The embodiments facilitate network planning and optimization.

Abstract: An uplink determining method and an apparatus. An access network device may determine, based on signal quality of a downlink frequency band corresponding to a supplementary uplink (SUL) or signal quality of a frequency band of an SUL, the signal quality of the frequency band of the SUL, to accurately evaluate coverage performance of the SUL; and after determining the signal quality of the frequency band of the SUL, may determine whether to perform transmission on the supplementary uplink, to avoid a case in which the access network device blindly indicates a terminal to perform transmission on the supplementary uplink when signal quality of the supplementary uplink is not measured, leading to transmission of the terminal on the supplementary uplink with poor coverage and even a failure, thereby improving reliability and a transmission rate of uplink transmission and improving user experience.

Abstract: This application discloses a traffic shaping method, where the method is applied to a wireless communication time division duplex (TDD) mode. A network device obtains N data packets sent by a terminal device using a shaping layer, where N is an integer greater than 0, the N data packets are submitted in sequence, and the shaping layer is configured to sort the N data packets; the network device compares traffic of the N data packets or a time interval at which the shaping layer sends data packets with a preset value when the network device determines that none of the N data packets is lost or that the N data packets are not out of order; and the network device shapes the traffic based on a comparison result by using the shaping layer.
