Abstract: This application discloses a data processing method in a storage system and the storage system, and relates to the field of data storage technologies. In this application, a client sends a data block in a stripe and metadata of the data block to a data storage node, and sends the metadata of the data block and a parity block to a parity storage node, to back up the metadata of the data block on the parity storage node. This reduces write operation time.

Abstract: A stripe reassembling method is provided, including: A stripe server selects stripes (701); uses data strips (D21, D32 and D13) including valid data in the stripes S1, S2, and S3 as data strips in a new stripe S4, and generates data of a parity strip P41 for data of a data strip in S4 according to an EC algorithm the same as that of S1, S2, and S3 (702); and stores the parity data of the parity strip P41 on a parity storage node N1 (703).
