    摘要: A portable antenna is provided for mounting on a motor vehicle's side window and enabling easy and rapid mounting and removal. The portable antenna includes a base member with a current-fed radiator carried by the base member and having a first portion for location on the inside of the side window, a second contiguous portion for overlying the side window and a third portion, contiguous with the second portion, for location outside of the side window with a distal end thereof extending upwardly when in use. A field-canceling conductor is carried by the base portion for location on the inside of the side window. A coaxial cable has its main conductor connected to a proximal end portion of the current-fed radiator and has a ground conductor connected to the field-canceling member. The current-fed radiator is dimensioned so that the second portion thereof is a relatively low impedance area.

    摘要: A portable telephone comprises a telephone housing, a connection member having a longitudinal axis attached to said housing and communicating outwardly therefrom, an antenna carried on the connection member, and a pivot system associated with the connection member to permit the antenna to swivel in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the outer end of the connection member. Further, a clutch-type system is provided, having first and second bearing faces pressed against each other in sliding, rotary bearing relation for relative movement as the antenna swivels. Finally, a combination of the clutch-type system and the pivot system, allowing for an even greater degree of movement by the antenna, is provided, allowing three dimensional placement of the antenna for optimum reception and transmission of signals.

    摘要: An antenna for mounting on the window or the like comprises outer and inner RF transfer members, each having an electrically conductive member on its underside for respective engagement with the inside and outside of the window. A current-fed radiator is carried by the RF transfer member on the outside of the window, while the inner RF transfer member connects to electrical cable having both a main electrical conductor and a ground conductor. In accordance with this invention, counterpoise means comprises a conductor carried by the inner RF transfer member which is adapted for electrical engagement with a ground conductor. Typically, the elongated conductor is of about a quarter wavelength and is a coil. The counterpoise means typically extends in a direction which is at least generally in the direction of the current-fed radiator.

    摘要: An antenna cable connector system is provided comprising a coaxial cable having a main central conductor, a coaxial dielectric, a coaxial braid conductor, and an outer insulative jacket. A connector having a conductive tube at its distal end receives the main central conductor. A main body portion is provided for receiving the coaxial dielectric. A sleeve is located proximal to the main body portion for surrounding the outer insulative jacket. An antenna box is provided having means for receiving the connector with a push-in fit. The receiving means includes a conductive member having an opening for receiving the conductive tube. A set screw carried within a lateral passage defined by the antenna box locks the connector to the antenna box.

    摘要: An antenna system for mounting on a glass plate with a radiator extending from one side of the glass plate and with an electrical connector and a cable extending from the opposite side of the glass plate whereby energy is transferred through the glass plate. Coupling means for a cable is provided, defining a receptacle for retaining the coupled end of the coaxial cable at an angle of essentially 15 to 60 degrees to said glass plate in said mounted position. Also, the antenna may define a helical base portion which may be attached to the glass plate on the side opposite to the coupling means. The helical base serves to shorten the antenna, and also to simultaneously serve as an electrical phase cancelling coil. Additionally, improvements are disclosed in the design of field cancelling conductors used.

    摘要: An antenna is disclosed which is particularly suitable for use with a cellular mobile phone. The antenna may be mounted on the rear window of a vehicle, and it includes a current fed one-quarter wavelength radiator adapted for mounting on one side of the window. An electrically conductive inner transfer member is mounted on the inside of the window in alignment with the radiator and a pair of spaced field-cancelling conductors are attached to the inside of the window and are spaced from the inner transfer member. The central conductor of an RF coaxial cable is coupled to the inner transfer member and the surrounding ground conductor of the coaxial cable is coupled to the field-cancelling conductors. In one embodiment, the one-quarter wavelength radiator comprises a pair of parallel, spaced radiator elements. RF energy is transferred through the vehicle window and the drilling of a hole for coupling the radiator to the coaxial cable is unnecessary.
