摘要： A first acquisition unit acquires images from a first image pickup unit for picking up moving images for use in recording. A second acquisition unit acquires images from a second image pickup unit for picking up the image of a person taking the moving images. A decision unit determines whether or not the person taking the moving images is viewing a monitor for displaying the moving images for use in recording, based on the images acquired from the second acquisition unit. A control unit varies the status of an image pickup apparatus according to the decision results of the decision unit.
