摘要： The present invention relates to an apparatus for building an address database and a method thereof.The apparatus according to the present invention includes: an address reading unit for reading an address from an address image; a read result storing unit for storing the read address and an accumulated value that represents the number of reads of the read address; an effective address storing unit for storing an effective address database that includes a plurality of effective addresses that substantially exist; and an effective address extracting unit for storing the read address to the effective address unit according to whether the accumulated value of the read address loaded from the read result storing unit is more than a predetermined threshold value. According to the present invention, the address database is built by verifying the address read from address information that is written on a piece of mail, thereby improving the reliability and completeness of the address database.
