    Abstract: An encoding method includes: obtaining original point cloud data; transforming coordinates of the original point cloud data to obtain a coordinate transformation residual; establishing a relationship between azimuth information of a point cloud and the coordinate transformation residual; determining an encoding rule for the coordinate transformation residual based on the relationship between the azimuth information of the point cloud and the coordinate transformation residual; and encoding the coordinate transformation residual according to the encoding rule, to obtain data rate information.

    Abstract: A point cloud sequence encoding/decoding method and apparatus based on two-dimensional regularized plane projection. The encoding method includes: acquiring reference-frame point cloud data and current-frame point cloud data; performing two-dimensional regularized plane projection on the reference-frame point cloud data to obtain a first two-dimensional projection plane structure, and performing two-dimensional regularized plane projection on the current-frame point cloud data to obtain a second two-dimensional projection plane structure; performing motion compensation and encoding on one or more pieces of first two-dimensional graphic information obtained based on the first two-dimensional projection plane structure and one or more pieces of second two-dimensional graphic information obtained based on the second two-dimensional projection plane structure to obtain bit stream information of the current-frame point cloud data; and repeating the foregoing steps until all frames of a point cloud sequence are encoded.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a point cloud sequence encoding/decoding method and apparatus based on two-dimensional regularized plane projection. The encoding method includes: acquiring reference-frame point cloud data and current-frame point cloud data; performing two-dimensional regularized plane projection on the reference-frame point cloud data to obtain a first two-dimensional projection plane structure, and performing two-dimensional regularized plane projection on the current-frame point cloud data to obtain a second two-dimensional projection plane structure; performing motion compensation and encoding on one or more pieces of first two-dimensional graphic information obtained based on the first two-dimensional projection plane structure and one or more pieces of second two-dimensional graphic information obtained based on the second two-dimensional projection plane structure to obtain bit stream information of the current-frame point cloud data; and repeating the foregoing steps until all frames of a point cloud sequence are encoded. The present invention can fully utilize spatia-temporal correlation of a point cloud sequence for encoding the point cloud sequence, which reduces temporal and spatial redundancy of the point cloud sequence and improves encoding efficiency.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a point cloud encoding and decoding method and device based on a two-dimensional regularization plane projection. The encoding method includes: acquiring original point cloud data; performing two-dimensional regularization plane projection on the original point cloud data to obtain a two-dimensional projection plane structure; obtaining a plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information according to the two-dimensional projection plane structure; and encoding the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information to obtain code stream information. According to the present invention, a point cloud in a three-dimensional space is projected to a corresponding two-dimensional regularization projection plane structure, and regularization correction is performed on the point cloud in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction, to obtain a strong correlation representation of the point cloud on the two-dimensional projection plane structure, so that the spatial correlation of the point cloud is better reflected; and when the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information are subsequently encoded, the spatial correlation of the point cloud can be greatly utilized, and the spatial redundancy is reduced, thereby further improving the encoding efficiency of the point cloud.
