摘要： An adjustable magnetic snap fastener for releasably connecting two pieces of material at any one of a number of possible positions. There are a number of stems attached to one plate and a number of magnets attached to another plate. Any one of the stems fits into a hole in any one of the magnets to connect the two sections of the fastener and hence the two pieces of material. Alternatively, there are a number of magnets attached to one plate and a number of magnets attached to another plate, oriented so that every one of the magnets on the first plate is attracted to every one of the magnets on the second plate.

摘要： A snap fastener includes a male component and a female component. In a mechanical fastener, a shaft having an enlarged tip fits within a socket having a retaining element for releasably holding the enlarged tip. In a magnetic snap fastener, the female component has a magnet and a cover with a central hole for receiving the shaft. In both forms of snap fasteners, the male component and female component have anti-rotation surfaces, which interact to prevent rotation of the male and female components relative to each other.

摘要： A closure includes a first section having a bore, the bore having a crimped opening smaller than an inner portion thereof, and a second section having a shaft which is at least partially deformed inside the bore to lock the two sections together. The closure may be a magnetic snap fastener or mechanical snap fastener. The magnetic or mechanical snap components releasably connect a first and second sheet material. The first section of the closure may be an ornamental cap or button. A method for forming a crimped locking bore comprises a tool having a bore with tapered sidewalls to form the crimped opening of the first section of the closure.

摘要： A portable scale including an inflatable bladder, an inflation port, a pressure sensor, and a display. The display indicates the weight of an object that may be placed upon the bladder based on the pressure inside the bladder that is sensed by the pressure sensor. The bladder may be deflated for easy transport or storage. The portable scale may further include a mechanical or electric pump for inflating the bladder. The pump may be turned off when the pressure inside the bladder reaches a predetermined level.
