    Abstract: A packet measurement method includes obtaining, by a network device, reverse measurement indication information that is used to indicate a request to measure a reverse packet flow of a first packet flow, after receiving the first packet flow, adding, by the network device, the reverse measurement indication information to a packet in the first packet flow, and sending, by the network device, the packet that is in the first packet flow and that carries the reverse measurement indication information. By adding the reverse measuring indication information to the packet in the first packet flow, the method indicates a request to another network device on the packet forwarding path to measure the reverse packet flow of the first packet flow. Measurement on bidirectional packet flows is implemented through one measurement deployment.

    Abstract: In a detection packet transmission method, a first network device receives a first packet, where the first packet includes a detection header indicating a network device to detect, based on the detection header, transmission performance of a service flow in which the first packet is located, and the first network device is an edge network device in a first network domain. The first network device obtains a second packet based on the first packet, where the second packet includes processing identification information and the detection header, the processing identification information indicates a second network device to process the detection header, and the second network device is a next-hop device of the first network device on a transmission path of the service flow. The first network device sends the second packet to the second network device.

    Abstract: A communication system includes a first device, a second device, and a control and management device. The first device sends first in-situ flow information telemetry (iFIT) measurement information at a first moment in a first reporting cycle. The second device sends second iFIT measurement information at a second moment in the first reporting cycle, where the first reporting cycle is for the first device and the second device to report the first iFIT measurement information and the second iFIT measurement information.
