    Abstract: A handheld device and a method for implementing input area position adjustment on the handheld device includes, when detecting that a user executes a touch operation on a touchscreen of the handheld device, the handheld device determines, according to a relative position relationship between coordinates of contact points sensed by the touchscreen, whether the user executes the touch operation by a left hand or a right hand, and then, according to a result of the determining, displays, on a left side or a right side of the touchscreen, an input area that is currently displayed on the touchscreen, such that it is convenient for the user to perform inputting by one hand, thereby resolving a problem in the prior art that user operations are relatively cumbersome because a user needs to tap a specific touch area to implement input area position adjustment.
