    Abstract: Gaming systems and methods for customizing game play on a gaming machine with custom media are described herein. The gaming machine includes a cabinet, a display, a user input mechanism, an interface configured to wirelessly communicate with a portable electronic device controlled by a player, and a game controller. The game controller is configured to provide a default game play session of a wager-based game, facilitate a data connection between the gaming machine and the portable electronic device through the interface, and receive custom game media and customization settings. The game controller is further configured to store the custom game media and customization settings and to provide a customized game play session of the wager-based game according to the customization settings and the custom game media.

    Abstract: A wager gaming machine having software and components allowing for automatic powering on and off (also referred to as remote out-of-band power control) bypassing the need for human operator intervention is described. The gaming machine has a master gaming controller and a network interface. The interface includes an input port supporting a TCP/IP connection which can be used by another network component having the gaming machine's IP address. The gaming machine may also include a Web server operating on the input port. The Web server may receive HTTP messages on the input port even when the gaming machine is powered off. Thus, the machine is capable of receiving an HTTP message at the input port instructing the machine to power on. The gaming machine may also contain a manageability engine processor for executing an active management system software component. This component implements the Web server on the gaming machine.

The game controller is configured to provide game play of a wager-based game, including generating gaming information including a hidden element. The game controller is configured to facilitate a data connection between the gaming machine and the portable electronic device through the interface. The game controller is further configured to transmit the hidden element to the portable electronic device.

    Abstract: A multi-tiered static chain of trust is established in a computer system which utilizes a first authentication program stored on a first memory device to authentic data stored on a second memory device. If the data stored on the second memory device is authenticated, then a second authentication program stored on the second memory device authenticates data stored on a third memory device. If the data on the third memory device is authenticated the computer system is allowed to utilize the data stored on the third memory device. The data stored on the third memory device is indirectly authenticated while the data is being used by authenticating the data stored on the first memory device.
