摘要: Mounting assemblies for waste disposers such as food waste disposers, waste disposers employing such mounting assemblies, and related methods are disclosed herein. Mounting assemblies include an engagement feature having a first engagement structure located on the body flange and a second engagement structure located on the upper portion of the disposer body. When the engagement feature is in the engaged position, the body flange and the disposer body are engaged, forming a combined disposer and body flange assembly. The combined disposer and body flange assembly can be lifted into alignment with the strainer flange assembly and rotated as a unit to engage the body flange with the mounting flange.

摘要: Waste disposers, such as food waste disposers, combination systems including such waste disposers, and related methods, are disclosed herein. In one example embodiment, a food waste disposer includes a dishwasher inlet having an inner wall that defines a channel and includes a first protrusion that extends radially inwardly toward a first central axis. Additionally, the food waste disposer includes a plug that includes an exterior surface having first and second barrier wall portions that together at least partly define a curving indentation that extends both substantially axially and also extends circumferentially substantially ninety degrees. The inlet and plug are configured so that, when the plug is supported within the inlet in a fully installed position in which the first protrusion extends into the indentation so as to be in contact with or proximate to an end of the indentation, then the plug is retained axially relative to the inlet.

摘要: Food waste disposer systems and related systems for coupling food waste disposer systems having permanent magnet (PM) motors to electrical power sources, and related coupling and configuration methods, are disclosed herein. In at least one example embodiment, a food waste disposer system includes a PM motor, an AC-to-DC converter having AC input and DC output ports, a housing, a power cord connection structure supported at least indirectly upon the housing, an adapter, and a power cord including a first plug configured to be coupled to the connection structure. The disposer system can be selectively implemented either in a first installation environment including a wall outlet by way of coupling the first plug to the connection structure, or in a second installation environment including a hardwired power cable by coupling additional lead wires of the hardwired power cable to the adapter and further coupling the adapter to the connection structure.
