Abstract: A paperboard container for shipping and storing fragile articles, more particularly television tubes, which includes an outer container, a first packaging insert spacer extending upwardly from the bottom of said outer container and shaped substantially so as to successively touch consecutive wall panels of the outer container, a first packaging insert having a plurality of apertures and hingedly connected opposed end flaps deposited into the outer container with the flaps disposed downwardly, a second packaging insert substantially identical to the first packaging insert, a second packaging insert spacer substantially identical to the first packaging insert spacer positioned inversely to the first packaging insert spacer and a top substantially identical to the bottom, thereby forming a container having a top and bottom which are substantially mirror images of one another.
