Abstract:
An electronic switching module includes memory stages at each input and/or each output for receiving data signals to be switched during a short term interval, for storing the data and then for holding it during a relatively long fraction of the channel time slot. This procedure enables the module to disassociate the reception of data from signal retransmission and enables stepping the data step by step and stage by stage.
Abstract:
A system is shown for switching PCM signals from a normal transmission path to an emergency transmission path when a normal path fails. Transmission is suspended during a period equal to at least the longest transmission time to prevent the transmission of incomplete data or check signals over the emergency path. After the time period elapses, transmission is maintained over the emergency path.
Abstract:
In a PCM switching network, a signal routing device is disclosed for diverting signals from a faulty section of the network to an emergency section. All the transmission paths included between the emergency section and the faulty section are shifted by one step towards the emergency section. At the outputs the reverse shift is performed.
Abstract:
An electronic switching module is provided for a switching system handling signals which have been subjected to Pulse Code Modulation. The module provides a path through two space switching stages to interconnect an incoming channel and an outgoing channel. A first one of the switching stages responds to an address information signal fed through a receiver register and a buffer register to connect a selected input to a second switching stage. The second switching stage responds to an enable signal to complete a connection through to the selected output line.
