    Abstract: A device configured for radiating a focused electromagnetic beam is proposed. Such device comprises: —a first (101) and a second (102) part having respectively a second n2 and third n3 refractive index and a first W1 and second W2; —a first contact area (100e1) intended to be between a host medium having a first refractive index n1 and in which the micro or nanoparticles are intended to be trapped or moved by a focused electromagnetic beam radiated by the device; —a second contact area (100e2) between the first part and the second part; and —a third contact area (100e3) intended to be between the second part and the host medium. The focused electromagnetic beam results from a combination of at least two beams among a first (NJ1), a second (NJ2) and a third (NJ3) jet beams radiated respectively by the first, second and third contact areas when an incoming electromagnetic wave (IEM) illuminates the device. The device is configured for having a direction of propagation of the focused electromagnetic beam tilted in respect of a direction of propagation of the incoming electromagnetic wave.

    Abstract: In example embodiments, a diffractive element is provided. The diffractive element may include a substrate. A plurality of grating elements are provided on the substrate. Each grating element includes a first ridge region comprising a first ridge body region and a first core element, a second ridge region comprising a second ridge body region and a second core element, and a saddle region extending between the first and second ridge regions. In some embodiments, the first ridge body, the second ridge body, and the saddle region have a first refractive index (n2), and the first core element and second core element have a second refractive index (n4) greater than the first refractive index.

    Abstract: It is proposed an image sensor comprising pixels for acquiring color information from incoming visible light, wherein said image sensor comprising three pixels being partially covered by a color splitter structure for deviating only one color channel of said incoming visible light towards one of said three pixels, and for deviating other colors of said incoming visible light towards the other pixels among said three pixels.     Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a device for forming a field intensity distribution in the near zone, from a propagating electromagnetic waves which are incident on said device. The device comprises: at least one layer of dielectric material, having a first refractive index n1 with a surface having at least one abrupt change of level forming a step; an element having a second refractive index n2 lower than said first refractive index n1, which is in contact with said step; and wherein said step generates a beam which is tilted compared to a propagation direction of said electromagnetic waves, and said beam having a length comprised between ½λ_1 to 10λ_1, with λ_1 being a wavelength of said electromagnetic waves in said dielectric material.

    Abstract: There are several types of plenoptic devices having a proprietary file format. At present, there is no standard supporting the acquisition and transmission of multi-dimensional information for an exhaustive over-view of the different parameters upon which a light-field depends. As such, acquired light-field data for different cameras have a diversity of formats. The notion of pixel beam, which represents a volume occupied by a set of rays of light in an object space of an optical system of a camera is introduced. The method according to the invention enables to provide data representative of a bokeh associated to a pixel beam. Such data representative of bokeh associated to a pixel beam enables the displaying of an image with good bokeh properties.

    Abstract: An optically-transparent device (100) is disclosed which comprises a main part (10) of dielectric material having a refractive index n2, said device being configured for forming a field intensity distribution in a near zone of said device from electromagnetic waves incidentally illuminating said device, when said device is embedded into a dielectric material having a refractive index n1 lower than said refractive index n2. Said device (100) further comprises at least one insert (11) of dielectric material having a refractive index n3 higher than said refractive index n2, said at least one insert being at least partly inserted into said main part, said refractive index n1 being different from said refractive index n3, and wherein Formula (I) with W2 being a half width of said insert and Formula (II), Formula (III) with W1 being a half width of said main part and Formula (IV), with λ being the wavelength of the electromagnetic wave propagating in the dielectric material having refractive index n1.
