Abstract: A packaging machine includes a vertical sealing unit, a movable cover, and a linkage mechanism. The vertical sealing unit is provided so as to be retractable from a vertical sealing position for tubular film. The movable cover covers a heated part of the vertical sealing unit. The linkage mechanism transmits a retracting movement of the vertical sealing unit to the cover to thereby cause the cover to move from a position in which it exposes the heated part to a position in which it covers the heated part.
