Abstract: Various systems and methods for presenting contents on a persistent display are described herein. A system for controlling an electronic display comprises a persistent display; a trigger module to detect a triggering event; a configuration module to access a dead screen configuration in response to the triggering event, the dead screen configuration specifying content to display on the persistent display of the system after the system is powered down; and an output module to write the specified content to the persistent display as an image.
