Abstract: Procedures, methods, architectures, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products directed to initial access in higher frequencies are provided. Among the methods is a method that may be implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit and that may include any of receiving a first transmission having a frequency component that carries synchronization signal information and that corresponds to one sync-raster value of a plurality of values of a sync raster; determining one or more parameters based on (i) the one sync-raster value being a member of a partition of a plurality of partitions of the sync raster; and (ii) the partition being indicative of a mode of operation; and receiving a second transmission using the one or more parameters, wherein the second transmission comprises control channel information.
