Abstract: Provided is a display (1) including: an insulating layer (19) having an opening (19M); and a light-emission device (10) including a functional layer (15) and provided in the opening of the insulating layer, the functional layer being provided between a first electrode (14) and a second electrode (16) and including a light emitting layer. The insulating layer includes a low-refractive-index layer, the low-refractive-index layer being made of a material having a lower refractive index than a refractive index of a layer (15A), and the layer (15A) being in proximity to the insulating layer and included in the functional layer.
