    摘要： A drum type washing machine including a tub installed in a cabinet is disclosed. The drum type washing machine includes a drum performing washing, a motor rotating the drum, bearing housings having bearings to support a rotation shaft, a suspension connected to the bearing housings and the cabinet to mitigate vibration generated during rotation of the drum, a bracket installed to the bearing housings to form the rear side of the tub, and a gasket installed between the bracket and the tub to seal the tub and to prevent vibration from being transmitted from the bracket to the tub. Volumes of the tub and the drum can be easily increased without increasing the volume of the cabinet. Even when the volume of the washing machine is changed, only one of the tub and the bearing housings, which is not applicable to the drum type washing machine having the changed washing capacity, is selectively replaced. Thus parts can commonly used in various drum type washing machine having different volume.

    摘要： A balancer of a washing machine is provided. The balancer includes a balancer ring mounted to a drum, the balancer ring having a liquid receiving space for receiving liquid, a plurality of first baffles disposed in the interior of the balancer ring, and a plurality of second baffles disposed between the first baffles such that the first and second baffles are alternately arranged, the second baffles having a height lower than that of the first baffles. When abnormal vibration is generated in the washing machine, the surge of salt water is effectively prevented by the second baffles. Consequently, further noise and vibration due to a resonance phenomenon or other abnormal vibration is minimized.

The washing machine may include a tub fixed to a cabinet, a drum rotatably provided in the drum, a motor rotating the drum, bearings provided in a bearing housing to support a rotation shaft connecting the motor to the drum, and a suspension coupled between the bearing housings and the cabinet to mitigate vibration generated as the drum rotates. A bracket may be coupled to a rear side of the bearing housing to form a rear end of the tub, and a gasket may be installed between the bracket and the tub to form a seal therebetween and prevent transmission of vibration from the bracket to the tub. This arrangement may allow for an increased capacity drum within a fixed volume cabinet.
