    Abstract: A single bipolar transistor crystal oscillator with the bias on the base of the transistor fixed and a second transistor coupled in parallel with the transistor of the oscillator for providing an alternate current path when the second transistor is conducting to reduce the current gain of the oscillator transistor, and a diode connected to the base of the second transistor for rectifying the AC output signals of the oscillator and biasing the second transistor into conduction when the output of the oscillator exceeds a predetermined value.
