    摘要: Digital Fingerprints are generated for data objects in a system where separate annotation files are created for data objects. This permits cross heterogeneous system relationship of a data object with associated annotations. The digital fingerprint is saved in an annotation store along with a first relationship between the digital fingerprint and the location of annotations as well as a second relationship between the digital fingerprint and location of copies of the data object. The digital fingerprint can be generated by any system that has a copy of the data object. Annotations or data objects can be found by searching for the digital fingerprint and its relationships.

    摘要: A method, apparatus, and computer program product for graphically presenting compatible workflow steps to a user through a graphical user interface are disclosed. The method includes graphically displaying a plurality of steps in a workflow. A user's selection for at least one step in a plurality of steps to denote at least one selected step and at least one non-selected step is received. The method further includes determining if a set of one or more output parameters of the selected step is acceptable as an input of the non-selected step. An appearance of the non-selected step is graphically changed if the output parameters are acceptable. The method also includes determining if a set of one or more output parameters of the non-selected step is acceptable as an input of the selected step.     摘要: A method, system and program product for annotating a transient state of a computer displayed application enables annotation of transient applications particularly web based applications. A transient application address (or key) and state information related to an application at a transient state are stored in an annotation store along with an annotation. The annotation is related to the transient application by the application address or key. The application is automatically restored to the transient state when the annotation is requested. Optionally a screen capture of the application at the transient state is also presented.

    摘要: A software system is provided to allow a computer to install and process web applications according to the invention. Such web applications are written as web pages that have access to the full range of operating system resources, including those not accessible through a web browser. Preferably, a web application is built using three types of languages used for constructing web pages, namely: (a) a visual presentation language; (2) a data modeling language; and (3) a scripting language for embedding logic. The software system preferably comprises a web application manager, an operating system interface module, a scripting language interpreter, and optionally a web browser and/or a data modeling language processor. Various other features such as data caching and security filtering are provided in accordance with such a system.
