摘要: A water-based ink for ink-jet recording and an ink-jet recording method allow the formation of sharp text and lines in high density black, and the formation of a high quality gradation image in which the graininess is reduced in a black image of a medium lightness to a high lightness (e.g., an achromatic image in dark gray to light gray) in ink-jet recording. The water-based ink combination for ink-jet recording comprises a black ink, and a color ink (A) and a color ink (B) that satisfy a color relationship of the following expression (I): about 120°≦|α−β|≦about 240° (I) wherein α is the hue angle of the color ink (A) and β is the hue angle of the color ink (B).

The chroma C* of a hue obtained by the combination of the color ink (A) and the color ink (B) is about 30 or less.

摘要: An ink set containing a water-based ink for ink jet recording and a treatment liquid. The water-based ink contains a phosphate-group modified self-dispersing pigment, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent. The treatment liquid contains an aggregating agent, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent. A dynamic surface tension of the water-based ink, measured under the condition where a life time is about 50 ms, is in the range of 35 mN/m to 45 mN/m. A dynamic surface tension of the treatment liquid, measured under the condition where a life time is about 50 ms, is in the range of 33 mN/m to 45 mN/m.

摘要: A water base ink set for ink-jet recording comprises a first ink which contains an anionic dye, and a second ink which contains a cationic dye. At least one of the first and second inks contains at least two glycols selected from the group consisting of diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and water. The ink set makes it possible to stably discharge the ink by means of an ink-jet head, and it realizes vivid recording which is highly reliable and highly accurate and which provides good color balance.
